About me
Dick Hubbard is the Founder of Hubbard Foods Ltd and a former Mayor of Auckland.
Having started life as a Food Technologist, Dick joined Tasti Products Ltd in 1975 as Assistant General Manager, later becoming Chief Executive. In 1987 Dick left Tasti to set up Hubbards and the rest is history.
From early in his career, Dick became passionate about business social responsibility and was founding Chairman of N.Z. Businesses for Social Responsibility (BSR) and a board member of N.Z. Business Council for Sustainable Development (NZBCSD), positions he still holds. Between 2004 – 2007 he was Mayor of Auckland City.
Why am I doing the LIFEWISE Big Sleepout?
To draw attention, not only to the nature of the issue but also to the fact that understanding, compassion and assistance are specifically needed to help those who are homeless. Sadly last year I was overseas when the Big Sleepout was on, otherwise I would have taken part. I think this is a great initiative and I am happy to lend my name and my actions to the cause and the event.
